Sunrise - Sunset, ... same thing every day
Solstice, … just a mark on the Calendar for the changing seasons.
Have you considered where the sun rises and how it sets in your area?
How high does the sun rise above the horizon where you live?
And how long will your daylight hours last?
If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, this season marks a Winter Festival celebrating (for many) an event of religious importance too.
In the Southern Hemisphere, it’s the same festival but instead of Chestnuts roasting on an open Fire, Egg Nog and a One Horse open Sleigh, you might be considering a trip to the Beach, a Shrimp on the Barbie, gorgeous Hot Weather and Beer.
As for me, Santa brought in the Festive Season with a dump of Snow!
Ho, Ho … (effing) Ho!
Makes for a beautiful postcard but after shovelling the damned stuff (for hours), all I had to show for my efforts was very marginal progress, cold wet feet and a realization that I couldn’t feel my fingers anymore.
In this season one has to be thankful for Festive Best Wishes from friends though.
That’s exactly how I felt, when after coming in to warm up from the numbing cold, I received a cheery message from a mate in Australia.
He wished me the best for the season and let me know that in his lifetime, he’s only seen snow once.
I hate him too!
To each, their own, … everyone celebrates the season differently.
To help share even more cheer, another friend (from Norway) sent me these fab pics of the 7 that he’s building. … very cool!
Nothing Special, … just a very normal 12 cylinder Rolls Royce Meteor engined Locost.
… as they say in Norwegian … “god jul”
… hmmm? … Wouldn’t it be nice to do a Livestream from Norway soon?
… Who Knows?
I live in Canada in the Great White North and I Surf the Planet looking for 7 Stories.
… So How did you celebrate Solstice (and the Festive Season)?
… post a pic and share a story!
No matter where you are, and no matter how you celebrate, Everyone at 7Spot wishes you a Merry Christmas, Festive Felicitations, Solstice Greetings, Happy Hanukah and a very Happy Festivus.
